What does a financial coach do?
The short answer? I teach my clients how to set smart goals, create a plan that works, and follow through to accomplish their financial dreams.
How are you are different from a financial advisor?
A financial coach or counselor typically focuses on fundamental financial issues or habits. Alternatively, a financial advisors are usually hands-off and purely transactional or product-focused. Think of financial professionals at large brokerage houses that manage your investments for a fee plus typically commissions on product sales.
Are you Rich / 100% Financially Secure?
Heck no! Like anyone, I have had my own struggles with money. After I figured out how to overcome them, I knew I had to pay it forward and teach others how to overcome their troubles with money. I’m not perfect, and I don’t expect you to be. I think it’s important that your coach is someone who has not only had their own money struggles, but has successfully overcome them.
What was your biggest financial mistake and how did you recover?
Believe it or not, I used to be a MAJOR overspender. Growing up, I adopted the false belief that money wasn’t available to me or that I didn’t deserve it and would always be broke. This resulted in YEARS of me constantly self-sabotaging, spending more money than I earned and accumulating debt, only to spend it on frivolous things.
