How To Feel Okay In Hard Times

So in the chaos that is #QuarantineLife, I wanted to share with you some of the things that have REALLY been helping me feel steady and calm.

1/ Turn off the News and Limit Social Media:

Fear is addictive, and it’s so easy to fall into panic mode in the sake of “being informed.”

Commit to checking in with what’s happening once or twice a week, and then find other ways to entertain yourself.

2/ Talking to my Therapist:

While I realize not everyone has the financial means to professional help, it can make a world of difference.

Being able to talk about my feelings with someone who won’t judge me and will give me positive feedback (instead of making me more anxious by telling me more scary facts) has been a game changer. If you can’t talk to a therapist, reach out to a person you trust and decide to be that support for one another.

3/ Virtual Hangouts with Friends:

While I rolled my eyes the first time I heard it, having facetime hangouts or cocktail hours with my friends has been HUGE for me.

There’s something about seeing my friends faces and laughing at old inside jokes that gives me an unmatched sense of normalcy. If you haven’t done this yet – I HIGHLY recommend.
